ABOUT JR MAVS USATF COMPETITIVE TEAM
The goal of our competitive team program is to give youth athletes extensive training for competition in track and cross country as well as  prepare for high school athletics. We compete at  sanctioned USATF track  and cross country meets  throughout San Diego Imperial Region 15.   Our three seasons develop runners with  Spring/Summer focusing on track & field, and Fall focusing on cross country and Winter on pre track season conditioning & fitness.

Our training helps youth athletes stay in great physical condition during  off season of other sports. We have athletes from many other disciplines who train with us including soccer, baseball, tennis & golf.  Your student doesn't have to join Jr. Mavericks as a top  or experienced runner - we will help them develop their best potential!

We have runners who started with Jr. Mavericks and went on to run with top NCAA programs at Stanford, Oregon, BYU, UCLA and more!  Being on the team gives students a chance to become a better individual athlete in general as well as in a team setting - we want to make a difference!

USATF COMPETITIVE TEAM TRAINING SESSIONS

Junior Mavericks is dedicated to supporting youth sports through training programs.  We have returned to competitive racing and are grateful to be coaching in our local North San Diego community.   We have multiple sites to serve our runners and each have coaches that deliver out S.M.A.R.T.E.R. program along with personalized instruction.

We have 3 cycles of training programs throughout the school year in fall, winter and spring.   Each are between 10-12 weeks long that follow seasonal running focus areas such as cross country, pre-track and spring track season.  We also have summer running programs that offer both base building run fitness and training for competitive track meets.

COMPETITIVE TEAM TRAINING LOCATIONS

1) Encinitas Community Park Mondays & Thursdays

2) Diegueno Middle School on Mondays & Wednesdays for winter training, Mondays & Thursdays for spring track season.  Diegueno is reserved for competitive  athletes.

3) Stage Coach Park on Thursdays,  one day per week only.

4) Moonlight Beach during summer training

5) Carlsbad High School during summer training

Weekly training will be broken into groups at these reserved locations. Specific schedules based on  groups & park availability will be selected upon registration.  Encinitas Community Park is geared toward our Cardiff / Encinitas younger athletes who are usually elementary school. Stage Coach will be on Thursdays 1 day per week only geared toward younger aged athletes as well, typically in elementary school.  Diegueno is reserved for competitive  athletes and may have broader range of athletes from elementary school to middle school.  Summer training includes other locations including Carlsbad High School and a favorite for all, Moonlight Beach.  Contact Coach Robin with questions.
